About the Camp

Future Leaders for a Future Earth

The 2026 Summer EEF Western Sichuan Field Camp invites Hong Kong and Macau secondary students into an interdisciplinary, field-based learning experience on the theme of Resilience & Symbiosis. Through encounters with horse ecology, local communities and the alpine landscape, students develop environmental awareness, cultural understanding and ESG leadership.

Selection Essay

Why Horse Ecology Matters with ESG

Each shortlisted team submits one essay of 600–800 words responding to the prompt below. This helps us see your motivation and readiness for the field camp.

Define horse ecology and explain its importance to environmental sustainability.

Show how horse interactions or conservation can affect human well-being — share an example.

Identify one ESG challenge in horse management or tourism and propose a practical solution for the Government or HK Jockey Club.

Describe how you will promote these values in your school and community.

Eligibility & Nomination

  • Open to qualified Hong Kong & Macau schools previously engaged with EEF.
  • Each school may nominate one team of up to 5 students.
  • Shortlisted essays advance to a panel interview for final selection.
  • School-nominated students are welcome to join the School ESG Ambassador Program in parallel.
  • Students not nominated by a school may also become eligible for the contest by enrolling in the School ESG Ambassador Program.

School ESG Ambassador Program

A separate honour for students committed to environmental, social and governance values. No essay required — selection by panel interview.
